Ovation Theatre, a 501(c)(3) based in Encinitas, serves the greater North County, San Diego area and prides itself on promoting professional quality youth and adult theatre within the community. Ovation Theatre is an award-winning studio and production company where students of all ages, levels, and abilities can stretch their wings, hone their skills, and become comfortable in the world of theater arts. Ovation Theatre with NCSA has won numerous awards from National Youth Arts in the past seven years including: Outstanding Production for Crazy For You (2019,) The Music Man (2017), and Peter Pan; Best Direction for Crazy For You (2018) and Into The Woods (2016); and other awards for musical direction, choreography, and outstanding ensembles. Their cast members have also garnered many Best Actor, Actress, and Artist of the Year awards.

CURRENT SEASON

ALL SHOOK UP

It’s 1955, and into a square little town in a square little state rides a guitar-playing young man who changes everything and everyone he meets. Loosely based on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, this hip-swiveling, lip-curling musical fantasy will have you jumpin’ out of your blue suede shoes with such classics as “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Hound Dog,” “Jailhouse Rock,” and “Don’t Be Cruel.”

 

The production is filmed at outdoor grounds that feature historic buildings, a circular stage, and land which we converted into an outdoor roving theatre – transforming the space into the little town in middle America where the musical takes place.
